School Policies and Procedures

CDIS adheres to the following administrative procedures and safety policies:

Office Hours

School hours are 8:00 to 3:00 p.m. Office hours are from 7:50 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

Visitors

Visitors to the school must check in with the receptionist and receive a visitor's badge before entering the school.

On occasion, the administration grants permission to former students, alumni and friends to attend classes for one day only. Visitors must meet all behavioral and dress code regulations

Textbook policy

CDIS provides student textbooks, but we expect students to protect the books from damage beyond ordinary wear. If books are damaged or missing, the student will be assessed a fine, which is set by the textbook manager.

Textbooks that are found not stored inside a book bag or locker will be collected. They may be reclaimed in the school office for a 10 RMB charge.

Transportation

CDIS provides transportation to school athletic events for students and teachers directly involved. Buses depart from and arrive at the school. If there is space available, spectators may fill those seats.

Fire Drills and Emergency Building Evacuations

Every quarter, CDIS conducts at least one fire drill or emergency evacuation. Detailed procedures and evacuation routes are posted in every classroom. Students are expected to follow their teacher’s direction.

Medical Emergency Procedures

In case of a serious illness or accident, CDIS will contact the family by phone and request the parents to pick up the ill or injured child at the school.

We will not allow a student to return home without proof that an adult is at home. If the family cannot be contacted and immediate treatment is required, the student will be taken to the appropriate medical facilities.

National Emergencies

CDIS is in communication with the US Consulate in Chengdu. In the event of an evacuation, we encourage parents to contact their own embassy.

Insurance

We encourage parents to provide their own insurance in case of an emergency.

TUITION REFUND POLICY

1. The enrollment fee and 10% of tuition are payable annually at registration and are non-refundable.
